Full Mouth Reconstruction
Neuromuscular Dentistry - Full Mouth Reconstruction (TMJ)
Many individuals don’t realize that dentistry is
not only your teeth. In the dental treatment dentist should
consider not only the teeth. Muscles also play an important
role in dentistry. It is necessary to evaluate and treat
your overall oral health by considering how your muscles,
teeth, joints all work together. If all of these factors
are not considered, your upper and lower teeth may not
fit properly, the position of the jaws will not be in
optimal position, muscles will have improper posture and
all that can lead to bite problems, muscle pain, headaches,
jaw pain, and joint problems (TMJ).
With special techniques and devices (face
bow, articulators, lab microscope, etc.) is determined
the jaws position and the occlusion (bite relation) is
altered so your teeth meet in new position where your
muscles and joints are at their best for optimal function
and comfort. With restorative procedures is accomplished
adjusting of your bite with changing the shape of the
teeth.
