Periodontal Therapy (Gum Disease)

Periodontal disease or gum disease is primarily caused by bacterial plaque, although factors like genetics, smoking and spit tobacco and certain medical conditions like diabetes and AIDS, are also known to be the causes. Gum disease (Gingivitis) is usually painless and can go undetected until it is too late. The initial symptoms are bleeding gums and bad breath.

We perform periodontal therapy by different procedures including electrosurgery, and ”scaling and root planing”. Following a contemporary treatment protocol, periodic maintenance appointments are scheduled until optimum periodontal health is achieved. We also educate our patients according to every individual about home health care to enable them in achieving this optimum level.
